Your settings on another computer

Export and import your targets

Your targets and groups travel in one file.

  1. On the computer that has them, choose Preferences → Export Targets… and save the file.
  2. On the other computer, choose Preferences → Import Targets… and open it.
  3. Choose Replace to use the file’s targets and groups instead of the ones there, or Merge to add the file’s to them. Merging matches targets and groups by name: a group that’s in both gets the file’s targets it doesn’t have yet.

The other computer needs the same slicers and printer presets installed; a target whose preset isn’t there says so and waits until you install it or pick another printer.

The theme, slicer locations, window size and similar choices belong to each computer and don’t travel with your targets.

Where your settings are

3MF Translator keeps two files, outside the app, so updates never touch them:

Your targets and groups (targets.json)This computer’s choices (state.json)
Windows%APPDATA%\AdditiveAtom\3MF Translator%LOCALAPPDATA%\AdditiveAtom\3MF Translator
macOS~/Library/Application Support/3MF Translatorthe same folder
Linux~/.config/3MF Translator~/.local/state/3MF Translator

If a settings file is damaged, for example by editing it by hand, 3MF Translator says so, sets it aside as targets.broken-<date>.json (or state.broken-…) and starts fresh. Nothing is thrown away.

Theme

Preferences → System theme, Light theme or Dark theme. System follows your computer’s light or dark setting.
