Plates, bed fit and Rotate 90°

Choosing plates

Each target row has a Plates box. Click it and tick All plates, or the plates you want; the menu shows every plate that holds objects. The box reads All, the plates you ticked (such as 1, 3), or None.

  • The plates you keep are numbered 1, 2, … in the translated project, and the file name says which they were: benchy-bambu-lab-h2d-plates-1-3.3mf.
  • None stops Translate: tick at least one plate, or turn the row off.
  • The box goes back to All whenever you open another project, since plate numbers belong to the project. It’s off for a project with one plate.

UltiMaker Cura projects hold one build plate, so a Cura target gets one file per plate you chose, named by the plate’s number in the source: …-plate1.3mf, …-plate3.3mf. With one plate chosen, it’s one file without the plate number.

Bed fit warnings

Each row checks every plate it translates against that printer’s bed, and says so in amber when one won’t fit:

  • ⚠ Plate 2 is too big for this printer: 250 × 180 × 40 mm, bed 220 × 220 × 250 mm. Turned 90° it would fit.
  • ⚠ Plate 2 sticks out 6 mm past the bed edge.

For a project with one plate, it says The print; with more plates that don’t fit, it adds (and 2 more plates) and lists them when you hover over it.

The check uses the printer preset’s printable area and height. It doesn’t know about areas a printer excludes on its bed, and it counts a round bed as the square around it. A warning never stops a translation.

Rotate 90°

Tick Rotate 90° on a row to turn every plate a quarter turn clockwise, seen from above, about the plate’s center. Use it when a plate only fits the other way round: the fit warning says Turned 90° it would fit. when it would.

The setting is saved with the target in that group. Each object keeps its own rotation within the plate, and a wipe or prime tower turns with its plate.

Center model(s) on the target plate

This group option is on by default. When your printer’s bed is a different size from the one the project was made for, the models move so they sit in the middle of your bed, as they did on the original. Turn it off to keep the project’s own positions.
