Install 3MF Translator

Download 3MF Translator from your account on the store: sign in at shop.3mftranslator.com and open Download. There is one download per platform.

Windows

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.

  1. Download 3MFTranslator-<version>-windows-x64-setup.exe.
  2. Run it. The installer is signed by Additive Atom LLC.
  3. Read and accept the license agreement, then follow the steps.

The installer installs 3MF Translator for you alone, in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\3MF Translator, and adds it to the Start menu. To install it for everyone on the computer, run the installer as an administrator; it then offers that choice.

macOS

macOS 12 or newer, on Apple Silicon or Intel.

  1. Download 3MFTranslator-<version>-macos-universal.dmg and open it.
  2. Drag 3MF Translator onto the Applications folder.
  3. Open it from Applications. The app is signed by Additive Atom LLC and notarized by Apple; the first time, macOS asks whether to open an app downloaded from the internet.

The first time it starts, 3MF Translator shows its license agreement. I Accept carries on; Decline quits. It shows the agreement again only when the agreement changes.

Linux

Ubuntu 22.04 or newer, or another distribution with glibc 2.35 or newer, on 64-bit Intel or AMD.

  1. Download 3MFTranslator-<version>-linux-x86_64.AppImage.

  2. Make it executable, in your file manager’s Properties or in a terminal:

    Terminal window
    chmod +x 3MFTranslator-*-linux-x86_64.AppImage
  3. Run it.

Like every AppImage, it needs FUSE 2. If it doesn’t start, install it:

  • Ubuntu 22.04, Linux Mint 21: sudo apt install libfuse2
  • Ubuntu 24.04 or newer, Linux Mint 22: sudo apt install libfuse2t64
  • Fedora: sudo dnf install fuse fuse-libs
  • Arch: sudo pacman -S fuse2

As on macOS, the license agreement shows the first time it starts.

Updating

When a new version is out, a bar at the top of 3MF Translator says so, with a Download button; Help → Check for Updates… checks at any time. See Updates and privacy.

Your purchase includes every update released for one year from the date you buy. After that, your version keeps working, and a discounted renewal, at any time, adds another year of updates; see How long do I get updates?

  • Windows: run the new installer. It updates the installed copy in place.
  • macOS: drag the new version onto Applications and replace the old one.
  • Linux: replace the AppImage with the new one.

Your targets, groups and settings stay as they were. They live outside the app, so updating never touches them; see Your settings on another computer.
